Faux Fireplace and Braided Rug

This client lives in a century-old house in Denver. A prior owner had bricked up the fireplace and painted the bricks and the floor in front of it black. She couldn't have a real fire, but wanted the space to feel cozy all year round. The braided rug in front adds to the cozy feeling of a fire, and the mouse roasting the marshmallow expresses a piece of this creative woman's personality.
